2012 Race Highlights

May 5, 2012 - Mississauga Marathon "Hazel" 5K - first race, first medal and a personal best time of 41:51 (easy PB since it was my first race).

June 3, 2012 - Bread and Honey 5k - a truly shocking PB of 37:51 (exactly 4 minutes better than my first race).

June 24, 2012 - Pearson Runway 5K Run - a disappointing time of 40:24. Super cool race though and surprisingly difficult considering you can't get a much flatter course than a RUNWAY!

September 22, 2012 - Oasis 5K Zoo Run - my favourite so far, especially because it was my first race with Makenna. Very pleased with my 38:42 finish considering the incredibly difficult (hilly!) course. Best post race food so far and an awesome overall experience as we rolled this race into a day at the zoo with the fam.

October 14, 2012 - Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon 5K - the largest race I have run so far and a personal best of 37:01 (YAY!!) Horribly wet and soggy day and not my favourite post race experience, but still glad I got to be a part of this race. (Makenna too!)

October 27, 2012 - Toronto Women's 8K - the longest distance I have run to date. Very happy to beat my goal time of 1:04 (I ran it in 1:02:55). Loved running a women's only race and I suspect the post race experience would have been fantastic were it not for the torrential DOWNPOUR that started in the wee hours of the morning and continued through the entire day. Will definitely run more races in this Women's series next year.

November 11, 2012 - Downsview 5K "Race to Remember" - absolutely PERFECT running day (sunny and cool), but very challenging course. Had been promised a fast and flat course (it was ANYTHING BUT) and was hoping for a new PB, but it was not to be (for both Kenna and myself). Finished in 38:34. My new PB will likely have to wait until the 2013 season....

December 1, 2012 - Mississauga Santa Shuffle 5K - a small, untimed race, but really loved the LINDT chocolate advent calendar we got at the finish line.  Super cute medal (which we had to wait a couple of weeks for!)
